Applications are invited for the under mentioned positions in the Department of Biotechnology, Gauhati
University under the DBT, Govt. of India sponsored research project in collaboration with Oil India
Limited entitled “Design and Development of mass cultivation system of selected oleaginous

1. Junior Research Fellow: Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Botany/
Biochemistry. NET/GATE qualified candidate may be preferred. Candidates having research experience
in the area concerned will have an additional advantage. Fellowship: As per DBT, Govt. of India.
2. Project Assistant: Minimum qualification: B.Sc. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Chemistry. Computer
proficiency with experiences in Laboratory and Account management is essential. Salary: As per DBT,
Govt. of India.
Last date of receipt of applications is April 20, 2012. Only short listed candidates will be called for
interview. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview
